Patna: Mukesh Sahni who called him son of Mallah is in midstream of Bihar politics.President of the Vikshsheel Insaan Party_VIP ,a constituent of NDA in Bihar has literally become rudderless.
Three MLAs supporting him joined the BJP and Sahni’s term in Bihar Vidhan Parishad expires after two months and the animal husbandry minister in Nitish Kumar cabinet will have to resign.
BJP did not nominate him for the Vidhan Parishad elections for which polling would be held on April.He could not get nominated for April 14 by_elections in Bochaha constituency either.He had claimed since the by_election was necessiated due to death of his party MLA,Musafir Paswan,he was suitable as a candidate.
On Thursday,state BJP president, Sanjay Jaiswal,demanded resignation of Sahni from the cabinet claiming his party was not a member of NDA.Jaiswal alleged Sahni had made a statement suggesting leader of opposition, Tejaswi Prasad Yadav to become the chief minister.
Former chief minister and RJD leader,Rabri Devi on Thursday regretted ” I’ll treatment” by BJP to the Son of Mallah and alleged BJP had earlier caused split in LJP, another NDA partner
Mukesh Sahni entered politics in 2013 and formed VIP, mobilised fishermen and boatmen communities and agitated for their reservation.
In 2020 Bihar assembly elections,his party contested on 11 seats offered by BJP,four were elected and Sahni himself lost.
He became popular in Mumbai film world after he established sets of Devdas film.He was already in fishing industry.
