PATNA: BJP and JDU,alliance partners in NDA government have two different strategies to control crimes in Bihar. While the BJP recommended Yogi(UP chief MInister} model ,JDU wants to continue with the Nitish(bihar CM) model of crime control.
Pawan Jaiswal,a senior MLA from Dhaka in Champaran today asked the government to introduce Yogi model to control crimes and liquidate criminals.”Here too vehicles should be allowed to turn turtle”.He was obviously referring to the mysterious encounter of Vikash Dubey, the dreaded criminal who was shot dead near Kanpur on July 10,2020 while being brought down from Ujjain in police vehicles.
Jaiswal said criminals were having freedom in all parts of the state and demanded police should be given free hand to control crimes and deal with the criminals.Encounter is the only way to create fear among the criminals as done in UP,he said.( U P ki tarj par yayan bhi Gaadi palatani Chahiye)
He referred to the encounter between the liquor mafia and Sitamarhi police on February 24 in which a sub-inspector was shot dead.Later, local police shot the mafia,Ranjan Singh dead on Nepal border. He demanded similiar encounters should be allowed and barriers should be constructed near all the police stations to prevent criminals from escaping.
Sanjay Sarogi, another BJP MLA from Darbhanga supported his party colleague in assembly and suggested encounter was the best way to control crimes.Criminals have not fear of ;police and they would be under pressure if encounter killings started.
However,BJP suggested was not appreciated by JDU leaders,Building construction minister and working president of JDU,said encounter killings were in violation of human rights.Nitish Kumar model to controi crime is the best way of policing.Chaudhury said trial through fast track courts have been successful and criminals were now under fear.Nitish Kumar has never prevented police from acting against the criminals,he claimed
Ghulam Rasool Baliywai, another JDU legislator too said Nitish Model to control crimes was best in Bihar Administration led by Nitish Kumar has made many notorious criminals surrender to the police and face trial and this is the only way to control crimes.Killing of innocents in encounters is not ideal for Bihar.
Alok Mehta, former minister and RJD MLA too rejected the suggestion for encounter killings and said Bihar is the land of JP and Karpoori Thakur who encouraged and protected human rights.State government has lost authority to control crimes,Mehta said.
