Patna; On Monday,the junior finance minister rejected the demand for special status to Bihar,but a day later ,finance minister,Nirmala Seetharaman paid special attention in her budget speech to needs of Bihar.
JDU working president,Sanjay Kumar Jha welcomed the announcements made in the budget and said chief minister,Nitish Kumar who had been demanding special status for Bihar since 2006 is also happy.Chief Minister hoped Bihar would get more for it’s  development
According to the budget speech ,Bihar will get Rs 26500 crores for roads,Rs 11500 crores for 20 irrigation projects,Rs 24000 crores for power plant at Pirpaiti
Bihar’,s tourism sector will be developed with a new corridor at Gaya_ Bodh Gaya and Saptarshi corridor at Rajgir_ Nalanda.
Two river bridges will be constructed on the Ganga at Buxar,Amritsar to Kolkata new highway parallel to GT to road  will be developed with Gaya as it’s headquarters.
Bodh_Gaya to Vaishaili road will be constructed to link two Budhist centres.
According to the budget proposals,a new express way between Patna and Purnia  and another express way between Buxar and Bhagalpur will be developed.
Parliamentary affairs minister,Vijay Kumar Chaudhury  appreciated the announcements by the union finance minister and claimed the long pending issue of floods have been addressed as Centre has decided to allocate Rs 21000 crores for flood control and negotiate with Nepal
Former union minister and MP from Patna Saheb,
Ravishankar Prasad said Bihar would develop faster with the fresh budget proposals.
Rituraj Sinha,national secretary of BJP commented budget was aimed at Vikasit Bharat.
Amritanshu Shekhar,convenor of Confederation of Indian Traders hoped with the heavy investment on roads
infrastructure and tourism sector,trades and business would flourish.
