National : Subodh Kant demands probe into Shastriji death

Patna;Former union minister of state for Home,Subodh Kant Sahay on Monday demanded a high level probe into the mysterious death of the then Prime Minister,Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966.
Speaking as chief guest at a programme organised by Lal Bahadur Shastri Vichar Manch on the 119 th birth anniversary of Shastri ji,the veteran Congress leader described him as a Martyr who died for the Nation
Sahay said when Shastri ji took over as the Prime Minister in 1964, country was passing through severe food crisis,had lost a war to China
Shastri ji led India to victory against Pakistan a year later.He gave a call of Jai Jawan,Jai Kisan and appealed to the people to have one day fast every week to meet food shortage.
He felicitated members of Chitransh community who excelled in different fields,like medical,surgery,education,
Journalism,sports and social works.
Those honoured included vijay Kumar Narayan,chunnu Babu,Shaunya Akhouri,Nikhilesh Ranjan,Ankur Srivastava,Dr KK Ambastha,Arun Kumar Srivastva,Parimal Kumar,Kishore Kumar,Shivaji Prasad,Shristi Sinha,Dr NPNarayan,Dr Sanjiv Kumar
Former MLC,Dr Ranbir Nandan,described Shastri ji as the most honest leader who even as Prime Minister carried a bank loan,practiced simple living and high thinking.
