PATNA; Special prohibition court of Lavkush Kumar, additional district and sessions judge, Gopalganj on Friday sentenced nine people to death sentence and awarded life term to four women accused involved in the illicit liquor- hootch tragedy which killed 19 people in Khajurbani locality of district headquarters.
On February 16,2016, a year after introduction of total prohibition, local labourers had consumed illicit liquor.Next morning,19 were found dead and six lost their eyesights
Court also imposed penalty of Rs ten lakhs on each of the convicted persons
The main accused Rupesh Shukla is absconding.
