PATNA : The ruling Janata Dal (United) on Saturday said that the dharna held by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in different districts have flopped miserably as people have outright rejected the contention of the saffron outfit.
Former MLC and senior leader of the JDU Ranbir Nandan slammed the BJP for squatting on dharnas in different districts over JDU’s decision to walk out the National Democratic Alliance. “The move has no justification in people’s eyes anymore. Even the grassroots BJP workers could not see any reason behind it. In fact, the public is annoyed with the ruling BJP for its anti-people policies,” he said.
Ranbir said that the BJP government is poor in governance but it has expertise in making false promises and spreading lies. “But now the public has become well-acquainted with the truth and understood the difference between the BJP and the Nitish Kumar government. The BJP is trying to deflect public anger by taking recourse to such dharnas,” he added.
The JDU leader said that a large number of the BJP workers have understood the ‘perfidious character’ of their party leadership and kept themselves away from the dharna. “They like Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for his development initiatives and detest leaders like Sanjay Jaysawal, state BJP president, who indulged in browbeating the JDU leadership. Instead of controlling his party workers, Jaysawal himself indulged in badgering the JDU and spreading rumours against the government,” he said.
Ranbir said that the JDU president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh exposed the game plan of the BJP to weaken the JDU and other regional parties. “The JDU leadership has showed the BJP its actual place. The BJP stands isolated in Bihar and it will not be able to win even single seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
The JDU leader said that the youth of Bihar are bolstered by the JDU decision as the promise of 2 crore jobs has proved to be a sham. “While inflation is at its zenith and prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed, communal harmony has touched the lowest ebb due to the concerted hatred campaign against a particular community,” he added.
He said that Nitish Kumar has exhorted all political parties to come on one platform against the BJP to protect democracy and save the Constitution. “The political move initiated by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will usher in a new wave of political churning in the country,” he added.
