PATNA: Senior Janata Dal (U) leader and former MLC Ranbir Nandan on Saturday said that the Nitish Kumar government has improved status of women through several path-breaking measures initiated in the last 16 years.
“Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has been clear in the opinion that the society and the state cannot develop unless women are empowered and given their due place in the socio-economic milieu. Keeping this in mind, the chief minister launched several schemes for their education, skill training and representation in governance brining radical change in their social status,” he said.

In all, 61.8 percent women in urban areas and 49.3 percent in rural areas use mobiles, according to national family health survey report,” the JDU leader said.
