Ranchi/Chaibasa : The District Compassionate Committee is acting as a ray of hope. The Chaibasa District Compassionate Committee is the harbinger of hope for the families of all those government employees who passed away from the world while discharging their duties. The main purpose of the formation of this committee is to make recommendations for granting compassionate appointments to the dependents of government servants who died during the service. Through this committee, relief is being provided to the family of the concerned government servant to aid them in recovering from the testing times. The recommendation of the Compassionate Committee, not only helps in improving the future life of the people, but also keeps them motivated to move forward relentlessly.
111 dependent families have benefited by this thoughtful step taken by the committee.
If viewed in the context of the West Singhbhum district, after the month of April-2021 till the month of May-2022, the meeting of the District Compassionate Committee was called for about 8 times in the presence of the revered members of the Compassionate Committee. During each meeting, decisions were taken after the required scrutiny of the applications of the compassionate cases received in the establishment office and recommendations were made to give permanent jobs to the concerned dependents. As a result of which, government jobs were provided to youth of a total 111 dependent families that included 82 under Group C service category and 29 under the Group D service in various offices under the district.
The long due appointments have brought euphoria and a sense of security to the dependent families.
Currently employed with the establishment office, Mr. Abhishek Karavan tells his father Late. Shivprasad Karavan was working in the Chaibasa Municipal Council and he unfortunately died during his service. I submitted an application to the establishment office for a job and after getting a recommendation in the year 2021, I got a government job. Today my family and I are very happy. He has been giving his service in the Collectorate itself. Mohd.Salman Zafar says that his father, Late Mohd. Aslam After met with a tragic death while he was working in the Jharkhand State Transport Corporation. I was recommended for a permanent job last year. Ms. Manisha Gope, who is working in the Sports Department tells that after the death of her father, Late Sranjay Gope, who was working in the Collectorate, my whole family found itself surrounded with troubles. My application was considered in the year 2022 after which I was aided by the District Compassionate Committee and was recommended for the government job. Mr. Anil Kumar working in the Deputy Commissioner’s office tells about his Late father Lakhan Prasad who was serving in the office of the Deputy Collector of Land Reforms, and he died on 12 April 2019. The Compassionate Committee’s support proved to be that light at the end of the tunnel for us.
There are many more such people whose lives are being strengthened and secured by the efforts that are being made by the West Singhbhum District Compassionate Committee. The expressions of happiness are clearly reflected on the faces of all these young men and women, who had to undertake a long walk from despair to light. Today, this has brought in a new streak of hope and they have been expressing their gratitude towards all the members of the District Compassionate Committee including the Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, and the West Singhbhum District Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ananya Mittal, stating that due to the required efforts made by all of them, the lost vigor and joy has found its way back to their lives. We all are making a headway on the path of life with a new enthusiasm and hope. Wishing you all the very best from us and our family members to help us get rid of all the turbulence that we met in the course of our lives.
After the recommendation of the Compassionate Committee, the permanent roles given to the dependents of the deceased government servants are meant to provide them with their rights. We are all part of a society where we all live as a family. If a member of the family gets separated from all of us, then it becomes the utmost duty of the other members of the society to extend support to the dependents of that member and to give them strength. The District Compassionate Committee has been fulfilling this duty.
Shri Ananya Mittal, Deputy Commissioner West Singhbhum
