Ranchi : Jharkhand will host the SAFF U-18 Women’s Football Championship for the first time after the formation of the state.

The competition will be organized in Jamshedpur from March 15. Preparations for the event have been completed. Players from India, Nepal and Bangladesh will participate in the championship to be held from March 15-25. This Championship is being organised under the joint aegis of the state government, National Football Federation and Tata Steel. People will be able to watch the matches for free.

Daughters perform exceptionally well at the international level
6 players from Jharkhand, Ameesha Bakhala, Astam Oraon, Sunita Munda, Anita Kumari, Niti Linda and Poornima Kumari have been selected in the national team for the SAFF U-18 Women’s Football Competition to be held in Jamshedpur. All these players are also undertaking training in the training camp organised for the FIFA U-17 World Cup next year.
