PATNA: Face with an uninterrupted attack by Upendra Kushwaha, chairman of the JDU parliamentary board,Bihar chief minister,Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said Kushwaha talks rubbish.As Kushwaha attacked Nitish again today,state JDU president,Umesh Kushwaha declared”Upendra Kushwaha is now not a member of the party and is in league with the BJP”.Umesh asked Upendra to resign his seat in the BiharLegislative Council as he was elected as JDU candidate.
On Tuesday morning,Upendra Kushwaha reacted to the claim of Nitish that he had given respectable positions to the rebel leader and said” Appointment as chairman of parliamentary board is like a rattle boy toy and nomination as MLC is like a Lolly pop”.
He alleged Nitish Kumar practised the politics of Use and throw and alleged he was acting on the whims of selected few in the Grand Alliance.As CPB chairman,he claimed he was never consulted in the selection of party nominees for parliamentary elections,legislative council or assembly by-elections.Though I am the chairman of the CPB,my recommendations were rejected by the chief minister and party president,Lallan Singh.
Upendra Kushwaha regretted he has not been invited by the party for the February 2 programme of the party to commemorate the memory of Shoshit Dal leader,late Jagdev Prasad.He announced he would participate in the programmes organised by his supporters.
When asked “how long you will face humiliation in the party as CM and party president were speaking against him?”,Upendra Kushwaha replied”in larger interests of the extremely backward castes,I will face humiliation like Mahatma Gandhi who was thrown out of train in South Africa”.
He demanded adequate representation to EBCs in the parliament and state legislature and reminded Nitish Kumar he had revolted against Lalu Prasad in 1994 for fair representation to Kurmis in Janata Party and government and had organised Kurmci Chetna rally at Gandhi Maidan.
He claimed like him,there were ministers in Nitish led cabinet,who were not allowed to work under the pressure of officers close to the CM.Responding to the call of Nitish that Upendra Kushwaha was free to leave the party ,CPB chairman said” I will not leave the party.Give me my share in the organisation and the government”.
He alleged Nitish Kumar was being dictated by RJD ;president,Lalu :Prasad in functioning of the government and party.He predicted a bleak future of the party.
Referring to the alleged attack on his carcade in Jagdishpur(Bhojpur) on Monday evening,rebel JDU leader demanded a probe by the chief secretary and DGP alleging the local officers had denied any attack,Bhojpur police today arrested four of his supporters who are alleged to had attacked the protestors against Kushwaha.
