Veer Kunwar Singh birth anniversary celebrations find Rajout unhappy

PATNA”The BJP sponsored Vijay Utsav to mark the 75th Independence celebrations at Jagdishpur,birthplace of Babu Kunwar Singh,first freedom fighter against the Britishers in 1857 will be marked with a record flag hoisting of 75000 national tricolour,breaking the previous record of 60,000 flags at Lahore in Pakistan in March 2014.
Union Home Minister,Amit Shah,will be the chief guest at the mega event for which BJP had been making preparations for the last few weeks,.State public works minister,Nitin Navin,who is camping at Jagdishpur,75 kms west from here,claimed a team of the Guiness Book of world records had reached Ara to count the flags on Saturday..BJP had put posters and banners in Patna and all the routes leading to Jagdispur with union ministers and BJP leaders of Bihar being highlighted as sponsors.The JDU has kept itself away from the event.Chief Minister,Nitish Kumarwill attend the official function at Patna’s Veer Kunwar Singh Park which had replaced Lord Hardinge Park.
Kunwar Singh had fought against the Britishers at the age of 80 and was successful in recapturing his Jagdishour Fort in 1858.He is considered the greatest warrior of Rajput community and his achievements are part of the schools text books in Bihar.
While the leaders of castes other than Rajputs have taken over the programme tomorrow,the Rajputs are not happy .Rinku Singh,mukhiya of Badgaon gram panchayat and head of the Bihar unit of Sri Rashtriya Karni Sena,regretted the celebrations are being organised at Jagdishpur,where police had killed the great grand son of Veer Kunwar Singh last month in police lock up.”This is the occasion of grief and not of celebrations”.Bhojpur police had arrested four policemen accused of assaulting the youth who had opposed alleged illicit liquor business by the policemen who were deployed on security of the historic Fort..Kunwar Rohit Singh alias Babllo Singh was alegedly betan to death in police lock up on March 28,2022.His mother Ms Pushpa Singh has demanded intervention of the Union Home Minister for speedy trial of the arrested policemen.
Kunwar Gajenddra Singh gave a call for boycott of the celebrations commenting” there is no justification of celebrations in tragedy”.Kunwar Anugrah Singh Rathod said the entire event was hijacked by OBC leaders,Nityananad Rai,former BJP state president and Sanjay Jaiswal,,present BJP president.He recalled in the past the Union Defence Minister,Rajnath Singh used to be the chief guest at Veer Kunwar Singh birth anniversary celebrations even when he as party president or hiome minister,but he has been sidelined and BJP preferred Amit Shah.
