New Delhi (25th March): She is just 32 and armed with tremendous nerve, sheer patience, robust optimism and iron determination, she is doing what many of her contemporaries can only think of. After completing her graduation in Commerce from Agra, the ‘Taj City’ of Uttar Pradesh, she could have opted for a lucrative job. But, she didn’t. She had her own ways of thinking to lead life i.e. giving jobs and bringing smile on miserable faces instead of seeking a job for herself.
As her name Lion Isha Tripathi Suri suggests, she is blessed with the courage to swim against the tide and scale dizzy heights against all odds. She dared to storm into male bastion. With only 20 guards and a meager amount, she set up her own company Shakti Security Services in the year 2000. And, today it is a prospering company with more than two thousand security staff and offices in several prominent cities across the country because of her perseverance.
It’s not as if it has been a smooth journey for her all these years. She had also her share of ups and downs, but she never gave up. Riding high on never-say-die spirit, she always believed that whatever a person has done, he/she may do. “Events in life fail to impart any great sense to many, but some who chastened by experience learn to live rationally and are rewarded with happiness,” Isha said.
“My father R.K. Tripathi immensely helped me in setting up the company. And, after marriage my in-laws also played a pivotal role, else it would not have been possible to reach thus far. Irony is, there’s still a misconception to underestimate women in our society,” added Isha, an entrepreneur and social activist.
In which cities does your company operate? In response to this question she said, “My Shakti Security Company is based in Uttar Pradesh, and now it is located in Mumbai, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat. We are also trying to put such franchises in other places.”
About the difficulties she faced in this field, Isha said, “It happens very often that male dominated society finds it difficult to digest and accept the female power. I felt it so many times. Women are told that they are free. They are moving ahead at par with their male counterparts. Everything is there, but somewhere our society is not able to accept it. This is my own opinion. People may differ. Society says one thing, but when it comes to the freedom of a woman in true sense of the term, be it our late night outing or sitting with male companions, there’s a huge difference between words and deeds.”
Isha is also the Vice President of Lions Club, Varanasi chapter. “This is a great achievement for me. I’m very happy that I am a part of this association from Varanasi,” she said.
In her reply to the question – women are coming forward in the field of social service. So, how are you looking at it as women empowerment – Isha said, “It is a very good thing that women are coming forward. We can do all that was once said that the jurisdiction of a woman is limited only to the house. There are many such names who have done a lot for the society and the country, and carved a niche for themselves. I feel very proud specially as a woman.”
“If we women think that the very task is beyond our limit or any goal is beyond our reach, then it is worthless to be born as a girl. Sky must be the limit for us. We’ve got the life of a human being and a life time opportunity to do something good for the society and the nation,” Isha said.
Isha has also been rendering her services as a life coach. “As a life coach, I motivate those people who get frustrated or those who think that they cannot do anything. The field in which they are in, they do not find a way or they feel that they cannot succeed in their business, my mantra for them is to first believe in themselves because whatever a man has done a man may do. And, always look ahead with renewed vigour,” she concluded.
