Reported to have Killed only 4 people in his life time. Chanoora(Wrestler), Kamsa(maternal uncle) and Shishupaala and Dantavakra(cousins).
His Life was very difficult. His mother was from Ugra clan and Father from Yadava clan, inter-racial marriage. He was not named at all throughout his life. The whole village of Gokul started calling him the black one, Kanha. He was ridiculed and teased for being black, short and adopted too. His childhood had life threatening situations.
Drought and threat of wild wolves made them shift from ‘Gokul’ to ‘Vrindavan’ at the age 9.
Stayed in Vrindavan till 14~16 years, killed his uncle at the age of 14~16 years at Mathura and released his biological mother and father but never returned to Vrindavan.
Had to migrate to Dwaraka from Mathura due to threat of a Sindhu King Kala Yaavana.
Defeated ‘Jarasandha’ with the help of ‘Vainatheya’ Tribes on Gomantaka hill (now Goa).
Then left to Sandipani’s Ashram in Ujjain for schooling at age 16~18. He had to fight the pirates from Africa and rescue his teachers son Punardatta, who was kidnapped near Prabhasa, a sea port in Gujarat.
After education, he came to know about his cousins fate of Vanvas and played immense role in the saga. He came to their rescue in ”Wax house” and got them married to Draupadi, further helped them to establish Indraprastha, their Kingdom. He saved Draupadi from embarrassment and stood by his cousins during their exile and made them win the Kurushetra (Mahabharata) war.
He saw his cherished city, Dwaraka washed away.
He was killed by a hunter (Jara by name) in nearby forest.
He never did any miracles, life was not successful, not a single moment at peace throughout his life, at every turn had bigger challenges but he faced everything with a sense of responsibility and remained unattached.
He is the person, who knew the past and probably future yet lived at that present moment always. He and his life is truly an example for every human being.
